I am sure my loyal lovely readers noticed my most recent MIA episode but I had a good reason… I was blessed to spend 3 days at the Disneyland Hotel with my family and travel buddies. While anxiously awaiting my turn in line for the Indiana Jones adventure, my travel buddy Monica and I were informally crunching numbers to guesstimate how much we spent all summer on our lil’ getaways and I was pretty floored to realize that it was a maximum total of… are you ready… $1300. Isn’t that awesome? We are talking about a 3 day camping trip in Big Bear, a 4 day trip to lovely Yosemite, and another fun filled 3 days at Disneyland. We had a trip to look forward to each month for the summer… seriously that was a real treat without the huge expense.
Now the key to our savings was luck, lots of planning with my google fingers to get the best deals possible… but the big difference was sharing the travel costs with my travel buddy Monica and her 5 year old little boy. Were there trade offs? Sure, there always are but both families had a fantastic time. We all got to eat great food. The kids both got little treats and souvenirs. It was an overall fantastic way to make your mini vacations more affordable and frugal. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing our adventures and what we did so maybe it will help one of you folks plan frugal trips too.
Stay tuned!
