Discover the Savings at Rite Aid

by Marsha on July 9, 2010

I have decided to select Rite Aid as my store of the month to see how much I can actually save and stockpile using the coupon match ups, up rewards, and cash rebates. I am so sorry my lovely readers but for the life of me, I just can’t find the time to highlight all of the stores so I am going to focus on this one drugstore for this month and see how that goes. I hope some of you will join me.

In San Diego, our sales go from Friday to Thursday of every week. Please don’t be like me and procrastinate to get yourself and your coupons organized until the last minute which will inevitably mean that you will loose out on some deals.

Learn from my mistakes:

  • make sure you are buying exactly the item in the ad or else you will be disappointed with your not so good savings.
  • be sure to review your coupons before you get to the register to make sure your coupons are not expired, you got the right item, or to take out any coupons you did not include in your purchase after all. Yes, I make every one of these mistakes :-(
  • Don’t spend Thursday night driving to the 3 local rite aids because items are sold out and you will miss out on the “free” items and deals because you are a fantastic procrastinator…yes…that would be me again.
  • Very Important!!!! Put your rite aid wellness card in a safe spot that you will actually remember is the safe spot you have chosen in your purse to prevent last minute scrambling at the register with people behind you making unhappy grunting sounds because you are not as prepared as you thought. This one never happens to me…scouts honor…not.
  • Another very important tid bit… put your receipt in a safe spot so that you can actually cash in your savings for your cash back rebates and your hard earned up rewards from driving around town like a mad woman so you can actually roll them into next weeks savings.

Sound good? Good? Believe me, it will have to be a mental process you practice along with good sleep, vitamins, exercise, and no nagging kids screaming at you for the ice cream cone you promised them if they just let you think so you can save money!!!! Ugh…I finally got it all out ;-) So there!

Now don’t get me wrong, getting all the deals is not my mission. My mission is to buy all of my families “needs” with the least amount of money possible to  better use that money to pay off my debt and be able to  be free to make other choices later in life with my hard earned money… oh and travel again… that is my mission.

Now that we are all on the same page…let’s get cracking :-)
